YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
The first image that comes to mind when I think about Yellowstone National Park is the geyser known as Old Faithful. The icon is a symbol of this unique area as a global, geothermal hot spot. Just consider the fact that there are over 10,000 hydrothermal features in the park including 300 active geysers. This is the largest concentration of these phenomena on earth.
While geysers, steaming thermal pools, and effervescent mud pots are fascinating to see, a large part of the show includes incredible wildlife-watching, with the likes of huge bull bison, elk, and stalking predators. This area is replete with pristine lakes, canyons, waterfalls, and mountain peaks that were carved by glaciers.
